1836 $2 1/2 Block 8 MS62 PCGS. Breen-6144, Variety 15, R.2. Second Head of 1837. A total of 547,986 Classic Head quarter eagles were produced in 1836. Block 8 and Script 8 coins are about equally available. The stars, wingtips, talons, and fletchings are razor-sharp on this lustrous, lemon-gold two and a half. Minor softness occurs centrally. A few thin, wispy marks define the grade. Population: 17 in 62, 27 finer (4/17).
