1880 $5 MS65 PCGS. Although the Philadelphia Mint coined more than 3 million half eagles in 1880, few have survived in high grade. This Gem, housed in a green-label PCGS holder, is an important condition rarity for the advanced collector. Both sides exhibit splendid orange toning on the brilliant yellow surfaces with full satin mint luster. Faint blue overtones add to the eye appeal. Population: 20 in 65 (2 in 65+), 4 finer (5/17).
