1909-D $5 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. Khaki-gold surfaces are largely unabraded for this Denver date and remarkably Choice as a result. Most examples even approaching the Gem level show bagmarks and other distractions from careless handling of the large mintage (more than 3.4 million pieces struck), yet this coin is smooth on both sides. A few small, blended areas are noted on the headdress and a tiny scrape on the jawline. An ideal type coin.
