Liberty Double Eagles
1895 $20 MS64 PCGS. The Philadelphia Mint coined 1.1 million twenty dollar gold pieces in 1895. Most survivors grade between MS61 and MS63, with an average certified assessment just shy of MS62. This MS64 example is exceptional in that it lacks any significant field marks, though a few luster grazes and scattered ticks are present. Rose-gold at the centers deepens to honey-gold color at the borders. PCGS shows five finer submissions (5/17).
