Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1922 $20 MS65 PCGS. Mint officials manufactured 1.3 million double eagles in 1922. Exportation resulted in a moderately high survival rate through MS65. Finer examples, however, are major condition rarities, with PCGS reporting merely eight higher grading events (5/17). This is a minimally abraded, wheat and rose-gold Gem Saint-Gaudens twenty with a touch of softness on the highest points. Die cracks appear on both sides.
