A Royal Society George VI medal 1945 by Royal Mint, 73mm diameter in carat gold and weighing 298.18 grammes, UNC and lustrous, presented to Dr Edward James Salisbury C.B.E. FRS, in original red leather presentation box, along with the original red leather folio containing an approval letter dated 9th November 1945 on Buckingham Palace notepaper, signed by the Keeper of the Privy Purse, also a CBE confirmation letter with handwritten signature George R I, Dr Edward Salisbury's doctorate certificate from the University of Glasgow and an Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners of London certificate dated 19th November 1951, at the time the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, a most interesting group of related paperwork honouring Dr. Salisbury's achievements
