Israel. Rare Lot of Four Israel Festival Presentation Medals: 1963, 1964, 1965 (English), 1965 (Hebrew). Each of these rare presentation medals is 59mm, silver-plated tombac. On each medal's obverse appears the Hebrew inscription "The Israel Festival and the Hebrew date". To the right is the Festival emblem, and beneath in smaller letters the inscription in English. The reverse shows from top to bottom three incuse as asymmetrical squares containing musical instruments, a theatrical mask and ballet shoes. An inscription in English appears on three medals, in Hebrew on one of the 1965 medals: "Presented by the Prime Minister's Office." In 1963, an unspecified and undocumented number of bronze medals with the dedication "Presented by the Prime Minister's Office" was issued by the IGCMC as a silver plated version. The 1964 silver plated version is an official issue of the IGCMC, and according to its archives only very few pieces were silver plated; however, it is undocumented in the IGCMC catalog. The 1965 Festival Medal has unknown mintage with English inscription, and is extremely rare with the Hebrew inscription about the Israel Festival on the reverse. Estimate Value $750 - 1,000
