Roman Judaea, 4th Century AD., Thread Decorated Oinochoe of Translucent Green Glass. This handsome free-blown jug is characterized by its spherical body, cylincrical neck, trefoil spout, and applied handle. Formed of translucent green glass, it features turquoise blue threads trailing around the neck and body in a spiraling manner. Height: 5 3/8". Estimate Value $700 - 800
Ex June 1986, Superior Galleries Sale of the bankrupt assets of the International Diamond Corporation. The ancient Roman glass was acquired thru Rafi Brown in the early 1980's.
