Great Britain. Proof Sovereign, 1832. WR-263 (Rarity-7); S.3829. By William Wyon/ Johann B. Merlen. Straight grained edge. William IV. First bare head right with finer hair and round topped ear, WW incuse fully on the truncation. Nose points to second N in BRITANNIAR. Reverse; Crowned quartered shield of arms, with the arms of Hanover as an escutcheon, Irish arms with eight harp strings, date below. Struck with inverted die axis, by Jean Baptiste Merlen. Bright mirror fields, lovely cameo relief. Of the highest rarity, only two example known, this coin being the plate coin in Wilson and Rasmussen. Excessively rare. PCGS graded Proof 63 Cameo. WINGS.
