Herennia Etruscilla. Tetradrachm; Herennia Etruscilla; Antiochia ad Orontem, Seleucis and Pieria, c. 249 AD, Tetradrachm, 13.95g. McAlee-1168d (Rare), Prieur-619 (7 spec.), RPC-1740 (6 spec.). Obv: EPENNIA TPOVCKI??A CEB Draped bust r. wearing stephane, later ridged hairdo, probably four pellets (officina 4) below bust. Rx: ?HMAPX E?OYCIAC around, S C in exergue, Eagle with spread wings standing l. on palm branch, holding wreath in beak. Purchased from Joel Malter, 18 August 1969. This coin comes from the second part of Etruscilla's first issue of tetradrachms at Antioch, with erroneous name "Truscilla" rather than "Etruscilla", but with later ridged rather than early smooth hairdo.
