People's Republic of China National Day gold Medal 1958 XF Details, approximately 24g, 18k. The badge has a red ribbon, with gold center stripe and five-pointed gold star, on suspension above the gold medal. the medal has a five-pointed star, with rays in the angles. At the center of the star is the monument in Tiananmen square, surrounded by blue enameling. Below the monument is the date 1958-10-1 (the date of the 9th annual celebration), surrounded by red enameling. On the reverse is a stamp with 18K, and a larger stamp with eight Chinese characters. The surfaces appear to have been tooled and the emameling seems to have been replaced. Included is the original case, with an exact image of the medal on the top of the box. Although imperfect, this medal is rare.
