MACEDON. Mende. Circa 460-423 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.93 g, 4 h). Inebriated Dionysos, in himation and with long hair and beard, reclining left, holding kantharos with right hand, on donkey walking right; to right, bird between branches. Rev. MENΔAION Vine with five bunches of grapes within linear square; all within incuse square. Noe, Mende, 41 (same dies). SNG ANS 330 (same dies). An attractive example with a particularly disheveled Dionysos. Minor areas of flatness on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
