KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 8.42 g, 11 h), Sinope, circa 230-200. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with serpent. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Nike standing left, holding wreath in right hand and stylus in left; to left, star above monogram of ΣI; to lower left left, ΣI; below wings, IAP above monogram of ΣΕ. Müller -. Price -. Apparently unpublished with these controls. A coin of interesting style and with some luster on the reverse. Minor marks and with very light traces of mounting, otherwise, good very fine.
