China Sin Chun Bank of China Shanghai $1 1908 Pick UNL S&M # H186-1ar Remainder. This small commercial bank holds the distinction as one of the earliest Chinese owned banks during the Empire era. The translation of the full bank title reads, "Chinese Merchants (owned) Shanghai Xincheng Bank." The date indicates it was issued during the last year of the penultimate emperor, Guangxu.
