Issued notes for this number are not listed in the Krause reference as only remainders are described under S122. Also, the date for this piece is not listed for this denomination, but "1.8.1891" is listed for 1 Tical notes of the issue. HSBC was the first of three foreign commercial banks that was authorized to operate and issue paper money in Siam. At this time the country had a great need for currency for the both the local economy and also world trade. In Siam, the "tical" was equal to 60 cents of a "Mexican" dollar.
