Canada DuraNote Test Note 100 Units ND (circa 1990s) Three Examples. DuraNote was a combined effort of Mobil Chemical and AGRA Vadeko of Canada. The trials were not successful and the paper money project was eventually abandoned. DuraNote patents were sold off after oil giants Exxon and Mobil merged. The actual printer for these Test Notes was Silba International, Banknote Design & Security Printing of Oakville, Ontario. The faces have an oil platform and Pegasus (the symbol for Mobil Oil) vignette, and the backs have an early twentieth century farming scene vignette. None of the examples have a watermark. One piece grades PMG Superb Gem Unc 68 EPQ, and the other two grade PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. Each note of the three can be considered as a different variety due to the differences in the security devices. They are clear window, vertical bars over clear window, and colored "globes." We believe that the "circa" date on the third party label is incorrect. Another DuraNote lot can be found in the Malaysia listings. HID08701242017

Estimate: 500-750 USD
