Judaea, Bar Kochba Revolt. 132-135 C.E. Æ medium bronze (23 mm, 12.00 g, 7 h). Year 2 (133/4 C.E.). 'Sma' (abbreviating Simon; Paleo-Hebrew), seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates / 'Year two of the redemption of Israel' (Paleo-Hebrew), vine leaf on tendril. Mildenberg 33 (O5/R33); TJC 260a; Hendin 1408. Very rare - only six specimens from these dies recorded by Mildenberg. Dark green patina with orange-earthen highlights. Very fine.
