From the KJG Collection of British Celtic Coins. Purchased from C. Rudd, 7 November 2006.
The head and grain ear of the obverse are borrowed from the Roman denarii of L. Roscius Fabatus (Crawford 412/1), which were also extensively imitated in Central Europe on coins of the Eravisci, a highly cultured Celtic tribal group inhabiting Transdanubia who used Roman Republican denarii as prototypes for their own coins.
