LYDIA. Philadelphia. 2nd-1st century BC. (Bronze, 20 mm, 7.70 g, 12 h), Hermippos son of Hermogenes, magistrate. Draped bust of Artemis to right, wearing bow and quiver over shoulder. Rev. ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΕΩΝ ΕΡΜΙΠΠΟΣ ΕΡΜΟΓΕΝΟΥΣ / ΑΡΧΙΕΡΕΥΣ Apollo seated left on throne with a back, holding patera; lyre to the right; on back of throne, owl standing to right. SNG Cop. 337-8. BMC 10. Attractive example, well struck and centered with a lovely deep green patina. Very fine.
