THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 460-450 BC. AR Drachm (20mm, 5.38 g, 10h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos around neck, restraining bull right by band held around its head / ΛΑR-I (retrograde), horse rearing right within incuse square. Lorber, Thessalian 7-8 var. (arrangement of ethnic); BCD Thessaly I –; BCD Thessaly II 355.1 var. (same); HGC 4, 410. Near VF, toned, some roughness. Struck on a broad flan.
