Washington Quarters
1932-D 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. It is only at the Gem level where the key 1932-D Washington quarter becomes truly elusive, although any Mint State example is a prize to treasure for collectors of this popular series. The present Gem 1932-D, with the CAC approval in addition, is one of only 16 PCGS Gems with the CAC green bean added. The piece completely holds its own, exhibiting full frosty luster over surfaces that show light accents of lavender and amber amid the prevailing silver tones. A few scattered marks on the lower bust of Washington are away from the prime focal points and well within the context of the Gem grade. The reverse shows few marks of any size, with accents of gold and ruby near the rims. The successful bidder on this coin can claim bragging rights to one of the finest examples known.
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2013), lot 5605.
