Bust Half Dollars
1811/10 50C O-101, R.1, MS64 PCGS. Slate-gray surfaces display deep-blue and violet accents across the smooth and lustrous surfaces of this Choice Mint State half. The strike shows slight blending on a few curls, but the eagle is razor-sharp. Die erosion at the margins minimizes the dentils, and the stars are drawn to the rim. The overdate consists of a pair of dots and the barely visible curve of an 0 near the final 1 -- hardly noticeable as more than a misplaced period (or in this case, a comma) between the 8 and second 1. Population (both 1811/10 varieties combined): 9 in 64 (2 in 64+), 1 finer (5/17).
