Bust Half Dollars
1815/2 50C O-101a, R.3 -- Cleaning -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. The Philadelphia Mint produced limited coinage in 1815, with the production only of quarters, half dollars, and half eagles. That production amounted to just over $49,000. The largest quantity was the 89,235 quarter dollars, while the largest face value was $23,575 in half dollars. Just 635 half eagles were minted, having a face value of $3,175. Perhaps 1,000 pieces survive from the 47,150 half dollars that were coined in 1815. This sharply detailed piece exhibits intermingled olive and gold toning over light silver surfaces that retain nearly full mint luster.
