Morgan Dollars
1893 $1 MS65 PCGS. VAM-3. Ex: J.M. Cohen/Shrike Set. Minor recutting is visible above the 3 on this VAM variety. Both sides are brilliant and lustrous with frosty silver surfaces and subliminal gold toning. The strike is crisp in most areas and only a bit weak at the central high points. While scarce, the Philadelphia Mint issue is the most-available 1893 silver dollar issue. It is conditionally rare in higher numeric grades, since PCGS has only certified six finer pieces (5/17).
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2011), lot 6070.
