Morgan Dollars
1895-S $1 MS63 NGC. The lower-left quadrant of the obverse is toned in shades of cobalt-blue and crimson, while the remaining areas are brilliant with splashes of gold and sky-blue color. Frosty motifs are well-struck, and minimally scattered abrasions limit the grade. A mere 400,000 Morgan dollars were struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1895. Philadelphia coins were either never struck or melted, explaining the popularity of the 1895-S among collectors working on date sets.
