Proof Morgan Dollars
1884 $1 PR64 Cameo PCGS. CAC. With a Guide Book mintage of 875 proofs, the 1884 is neither scarcer nor more available than other proof silver dollars of its decade. Miles Standish suggests the actual mintage was 920 pieces, but 45 proofs were melted as unsold. This is a brilliant, contrasted example with a deep, sharp strike and a nicely frosted cheek. Fleeting hints of faint gold toning exist at the rims. CAC-endorsed for quality. Population: 25 in 64 (2 in 64+) Cameo, 21 finer. CAC: 6 in 64, 12 finer (5/17).
