Liberty Double Eagles
1882-CC $20 AU53 PCGS. Variety 1-B (not listed in Winter). This attractive AU53 specimen shows a vertical spike in front of Liberty's eye and a die crack through the bottom of the denomination that identifies the Variety 1-B, a die marriage discovered by Heritage numismatist Brian Koller after the publication of Doug Winter's series reference. This lightly worn and lightly abraded example retains much of its original mint luster.
