Liberty Double Eagles
1889-CC $20 AU53 PCGS. Variety 1-A. Only 30,945 Liberty double eagles were struck at the Carson City Mint in 1889, but the issue has a high survival rate due to some hoards that surfaced in the 1990's. This impressive AU53 example exhibits just a touch of wear on the strongly impressed design elements and the lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces are lustrous and attractive.
