(1837-1842) $5 C. Bechtler Five Dollar, 134G, With Star AU50 PCGS. K-20, R.4. The K-20 was struck during Christopher Bechtler's sixth series of coinage, from 1837-1842. The coins were widely accepted and circulated in the southeastern United States until the Civil War. This attractive AU50 example offers well-detailed design elements and lightly abraded antique-gold surfaces that retain traces of original mint luster in selected areas.
