Lincoln Cents
1912-S 1C MS65 Red NGC. The 1912-S is a semikey early Lincoln with an impressively low mintage when compared with its P- and D-mint counterparts. Only 4.4 million examples were produced. Few are known today in the higher Uncirculated grades, and even fewer retain their initial mint color. This lustrous and boldly struck Gem is apricot-gold with obverse glimpses of mint-green. Census: 24 in 65 Red, 1 finer (5/17).
Ex: Brenda John Collection (Heritage, 7/2010), lot 3125, which realized $2,760.
