Proof Three Cent Nickels
1877 3CN PR66 PCGS. Only proof three cent nickels were struck in 1877, and the mintage was limited to 900 pieces. These coins frequently come satiny rather than deeply reflective, as is the case with the present coin, although the fields have a degree of flash when tilted beneath a light. The strike is sharp, and the unblemished surfaces offer traditional silver-gray color. Population: 60 in 66 (2 in 66+), 4 finer (5/17).
