1929-D 5C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Elusive in Gem condition or finer, this sharply struck Premium Gem ranks near the top of the population reports, with just five 1929-D nickels certified in a finer numerical grade (5/17). The Bowers reference suggests there are no full strikes, and just 16% of the surviving coins can be considered "sharp." This example displays strong definition on the hair and braid knot, as well as on the bison's fur. Bright luster radiates from the satin-smooth surfaces that show a translucent glimmer of tan-gold patina. CAC endorsed.
