Bust Half Dollars
1821 50C O-107, R.3, MS62 PCGS. Star 7 points to the front edge of the cap, which is the primary pick-up point for the scarce O-107 variety. Star 13 is is slightly distant from the curl, and all of the obverse stars show full centers and sharp definition. The obverse displays a high and wide date -- the widest date seen among all 1821 varieties. This variety seems scarcer than its R.3 rarity rating suggests. Attractive, original toning ranges from gunmetal-blue at the borders to rich golden brown shades at the centers.
