Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1917-D 50C Reverse MS64 PCGS. Full Gem examples of the 1917-D with a Reverse Mintmark are very scarce, and as a result near-Gem examples represent the optimal collector grade for advanced set of Walkers. This beautifully patinated example is sharp and glows with satin luster. A deep band of bluish-gray toning at the upper-left obverse mellows into shades of amber and pale honey-gold. The usual sharp strike exists for this Denver issue, with nice definition on Liberty's facial features and surprisingly strong thumb and finger detail on the branch hand. The reverse displays similar coloration and exceptionally sharp feather detail. Just 54 numerically finer examples appear on the current PCGS population report (6/17).
