1849 $1 MS62 PCGS. OC-1, R.1. Despite a fairly low mintage of 62,600 pieces, the 1849 Seated Liberty dollar is a reasonably available issue in the context of the series. This attractive MS62 specimen offers well-detailed design elements, with just a touch of softness on the stars on the right.. The obverse die was used on both known varieties of this date, while the reverse die was used to strike several varieties from 1848 to 1851. The lightly marked surfaces display highlights of emerald-green, violet, and magenta toning. Population: 11 in 62, 40 finer (6/17).
