Proof Trade Dollars
1874 T$1 PR63 PCGS. Period after FINE. After the 1873, and discounting the 1884 and 1885, the 1874 is the rarest date in the proof Trade dollar series. Many examples were probably placed into circulation and thus lost to future generations of collectors. This is an attractively original Select example with lovely copper-magenta and cobalt-blue toning at the peripheries. The fields are nicely reflective and outwardly distracting hairlines are minimal. The coin is limited in grade by pronounced softness of strike on the eagle's right (facing) leg and Liberty's breast.
