1880-CC $1 8/7, Reverse of 1878, VAM-7A, MS65 PCGS. A Hit List 40 Variety. Ex: California. This sharply detailed, well-preserved Gem shows the remnants of an undertype 7 below the second 8, with the base of the 7 below the 8, but no chatter inside the loops. Clash marks are evident at Liberty's neck, indicating the later VAM-7A die state and the parallel top arrow feather on the reverse identifies the Reverse of 1878.
