1880-CC $1 8/7, Reverse of 1878, VAM-7A, MS65+ PCGS. A Hit List 40 Variety. The remnants of an undertype 7 are visible in a low position beneath the second 8 in the date and the top arrow fletching is parallel with the others, identifying the VAM-7 dies. Some clash marks at the neck indicate the late die state VAM-7A. This Plus-graded Gem is sharply detailed and lustrous, with well-preserved surfaces that show delicate shades of pale gold toning.
