1899-S $1 MS66 PCGS. Ex: California. The 1899-S Morgan dollar is scarce in MS66 and genuinely rare any finer. This Premium Gem is semiprooflike and beautifully preserved with boldly struck design elements. PCGS reports 11 Superb Gems finer, although we have only ever handled five such coins in more than two decades of auction record keeping. It is unlikely that the average collector will have a chance to acquire a finer coin than this Premium Gem.
