1860-S $3 XF45 PCGS. This is one of the more challenging issues in the early part of the three dollar gold series thanks to mintage of 7,000 coins and a high degree of circulation. Additionally, the Guide Book notes that 2,592 pieces were melted. Appealing yellow-gold colors this lightly circulated, crisply detailed survivor. The wreath bow and 18 are trivially soft. A coppery alloy spot is seen above (L)IB(ERTY).
