Victoria Specimen 25 Cents 1875-H SP64 PCGS, Heaton mint, KM5. Blunt 5. A coin of spectacular rarity and the key to the Victoria 25 cent series at all levels, but of particular interest to collectors in this premium Specimen format. The immediate response to this offering is remarkable, as the mauve-gray surfaces glimmer in hues of lavender and gold, drawing attention to the central designs which have been boldly executed to full completion, just as one would expect on a presentation piece such as this. And, as far as overall condition is concerned, other than a scant mark or two in the recesses, the reflective fields deliver a pleasing, fresh appearance, while a retained lamination on the Queen's cheek likely factors into the grade, but is not a significant visual deterrent. An altogether beautifully produced example that will easily attract attention from the collectors of Canadian scarcities, and one that should easily elevate the status of its next coin cabinet.
