Large Cents
1812 1C Large Date, S-289, B-4, R.1, MS62 Brown PCGS. Breen Die State II, with light flowlines but before the obverse stars were pulled out to the border. Although the S-289 is rated Rarity-1, it is an elusive variety in higher grades, with only two Mint State examples appearing in Del Bland's Condition Census. This piece is likely one of the six or seven finest of the variety. Fully lustrous light brown surfaces are virtually flawless with sharp design features. Our EAC grade AU55. Population for both Large Date varieties: 6 in 62 Brown, 14 finer (6/17).
