Flying Eagle Cents
1857 1C MS65 PCGS. The year 1857 represented the first issuance of regular-issue Flying Eagle cents, though collectors often consider the 1856 to be the first because of its inclusion in the Guide Book. This is a fantastic brassy-gold Gem with swirling luster. The design elements, upper obverse excluded, are well-struck. Tiny carbon specks are more populous on the reverse than the obverse. There are only 18 finer submissions at PCGS (6/17).
