Proof Jefferson Nickels
1939 5C Reverse of 1940, FS-901, PR67 PCGS. CAC. The majority of Jefferson proof mintage in 1939 was with the Reverse of 1938 which had wavy, ill-defined steps on Monticello. A much smaller number were made with the new, enhanced design of 1940 with sharp, well-defined steps. Deep, grayish-gold patina covers this mark-free Superb Gem. Population: 82 in 67 (7 in 67+), 1 finer. CAC: 18 in 67, 1 finer (6/17).
