Proof Barber Dimes
1897 10C PR67 Cameo NGC. Proof production was about level from 1896 to 1898, never falling below 731 proofs or climbing above 762 specimens. That period is also characterized by its excellent manufacturing quality. This 1897 Superb Gem Cameo dime from a mintage of 731 pieces has reflective, unmarked fields surrounding thickly frosted devices. Each side shows the faintest trace of gold color but is virtually all-brilliant. Census: 22 in 67 Cameo (1 in 67+, 6 in 67★), 4 finer (6/17).
