Seated Quarters
1872-CC 25C VF35 PCGS. Briggs 1-A. The quarter dollar was only a secondary priority at the Carson City Mint until 1876. Mintages from 1870 to 1874, were either in the low five-figure range, the four-figure range, or nonexistent entirely (the case in 1874). The 1872-CC mintage total was 22,850 pieces. This issue is scarce in all grades and is prohibitively rare in Mint State. This Choice VF example displays smooth golden-gray surfaces with blushes of amber-red in the fields. The patina is smooth, and the design elements are well-defined. Population: 1 in 35, 10 finer (6/17).
