Seated Quarters
1891-O 25C -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. The New Orleans Mint discontinued coinage in 1861 during the early months of the Civil War, and resumed production with silver dollars, eagles, and double eagles in 1879. Quarter dollar production at that mint had an even longer gap from 1860 until 1891. The 1891-O is the only With Motto Seated quarter issue from New Orleans. This piece has been cleaned but now displays pleasing golden-brown toning with blue overtones.
