1722 PENNY Rosa Americana Penny, UTILE, M. 2.13-C.4, W-1264, R.5, AU53 PCGS. This piece is substantially sharper than the plate coin in Sidney Martin's reference, The Rosa Americana Coinage of William Wood. The obverse die is unique to this marriage while the reverse die is also (rarely) found with obverse 2.9. A lovely display of olive, tan, and blue-steel toning appears on both sides of this well-detailed survivor. Both dies exhibit noticeable flowlines from extensive die use. Listed on page 44 of the 2018 Guide Book.
