1785 C NOVA Nova Constellatio Copper, Pointed Rays, Large Date, Crosby 3-B, W-1895, R.2, AU58 PCGS. Large quantities of the Nova Constellatio coppers were struck in Birmingham, England on an order from the trading business, Constable, Rucker & Co, whose partners included financier Robert Morris, Jr. This lovely example exhibits nearly flawless golden-tan and steel-brown surfaces with ample cartwheel luster. Listed on page 56 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population for all five varieties of this type: 18 in 58 (2 in 58+), 20 finer (6/17).
