1796 Medal Castorland, Paris Mint Restrike, W-9170, R.5, MS64 Brown PCGS. This Paris Mint Restrike was minted from the original obverse die and a copy of the reverse die, and has the "Pointed Hand" privy mark and CUIVRE on the edge, indicating a copper restrike that was minted between June 23, 1845 and October 31, 1860. The obverse exhibits sharp peripheral doubling. Both sides of this chestnut-brown example are fully prooflike with outstanding blue and violet overtones. Listed on page 79 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 1 in 64 Brown, 0 finer (6/17).
